Transitional Master Bath Transformation

After inheriting her parent's house on Lake Coronado, this retired homeowner and her husband hired us to bring this master bath up to date, after being custom built in the 90's.

Wallpaper is coming back in trend, however, this tired pastel look accompanied by cultured marble galore made this large space dated and drab.

With the couple's eccentric and enjoyable personality, we geared them towards fun elements outside of their typical comfort zone for an accessible yet tasteful spin on the now "classic gray" bathroom that has an overwhelming request these days.

We didn't change much on the layout. The tall built-in cabinet behind the shower was taken out to add space for the curbless, open shower design. A countertop "tower" was implemented on the vanity to make up for the lack of storage, as well as a drawer stack and recessed medicine cabinets on either side of the storage tower. A freestanding tub was put in place of the older Jacuzzi setup, which helped give this master bath a more open feel.
